Synopsis

Astaldi (BIT:AST), an Italy-based infrastructure construction company, is said to be interested in acquiring the 49% stake held by Brazil-based OAS, a construction company, in the consortium of Puente Chacao, in Chile, reported Portal Minero on 10 June, 2016.

Specifically, Astaldi may have met with public works authorities in Chile to announce its intention to enter the consortium, given the imminent exit of OAS from the project.

In this regard, the government consulted the industry and two options are currently in play: either Hyundai Engineering and Construction, a South Korea-based construction company, acquires OAS' stake, or, alternatively, a third party, such as Astaldi or Spain-based Sacyr (BME:SCYR), enters the project.
