Spain-based Abanca announced it does not rule out mergers in the future, but for the moment it doesn't consider it necessary since its current project is viable, as reported by newspaper Cinco Días on 16 July 2015.

Abanca's president Francisco Botas said that European Central Bank is not pressing for mergers to be carried out. However, the bank does not rule analyzing corporate deals.

In the first semester of 2015, Abanca registered profits of EUR 182m.

La entidad española Abanca ha anunciado que no descarta en un futuro realizar alguna fusión con otra entidad, pero por el momento no lo ve necesario ya que su proyecto actual es viable, según ha publicado el diario Cinco Días el 16 de julio de 2015.

Su presidente, Francisco Botas, ha afirmado que el Banco Central Europeo (BCE) no le está presionando para llevar a cabo fusiones, pero no cierra la puerta a analizar operaciones corporativas.

Abanca ha cerrado el primer semestre de 2015 con un beneficio neto de EUR 182m.
