A delegation from the U.S. state of Arkansas, led by its secretary of agriculture, Wes Ward, participated in a business mission to Havana to promote trade and investment in Cuba, reported El Economista on 27 June 2016. The business mission, comprised of representatives from the academic, biotechnology, and agriculture sectors, visited the Zona Especial de Desarrollo Mariel, which is made up of a merchant port and a business center under construction, to analyze potential foreign investment, particularly in the sectors present in the mission.

Un delegación del estado norteamericano de Arkansas, encabezada por su secretario de Agricultura, Wes Ward, ha participado en una misión empresarial en La Habana con el interés de promover el comercio y las inversiones en Cuba, según ha informado El Economista el 27 de junio de 2016. La misión empresarial, conformada por representantes de las áreas académica, biotecnológica y de agricultura, han tenido un recorrido por la Zona Especial de Desarrollo Mariel, la cual consta de un puerto mercante y un centro empresarial en construcción, con el objetivo de analizar posibles inversiones extranjeras, especialmente en los rubros invitados en la misión. |
