About Freshfields España
Our offices in Madrid and Barcelona are home to more than 100 lawyers. The majority locally qualified, one of the highest percentages of locally an international law firm in Spain. There is also a small team of English solicitors.

As an international law firm in Spain, we combine a detailed knowledge of Spanish civil law concepts with the common law from other jurisdictions we work in. This, together with our EU law expertise and our ability to draw on the services of our other offices, enables us to offer our clients the best all-round legal solutions.
To help us identify trends and opportunities in Spain we have an advisory council of high profile individuals in the local business community.
All our lawyers are fluent in Spanish and English, and those in our Barcelona office also speak Catalan. We also have French, Italian and German speakers, allowing us to communicate with most of our major clients in their own languages. We maintain strong links with the law faculties of the Spanish universities to ensure we recruit the top law students. We also have close contacts with the key regulatory authorities in Spain - the Bank of Spain, the Securities Commission (CNMV) and the Spanish competition authorities.
