In February, the investment volume generated by mergers and acquisitions in Latin America increased by 27.3% compared with the same period last year; USD 8.73bn in 2014 and USD 11.11bn in 2015. On the other hand, the number of deals registered decreased slightly, from 130 last year to 127 in February 2015.
Highlights, this month, include Brazil-based Rumo Logística’s acquisition through merger of Brazil-based ALL- América Latina Logística, for approximately USD 3.83bn. The Netherlands-based Heineken sold its Mexican subsidiary Empaque to US-based Crown Holdings, for approximately USD 1.23bn.
