In January 2016, the Brazilian transactional market registered a total of 52 deals, both announced and closed, generating an aggregate value of approximately BRL 10.81bn, taking into account deals with disclosed values. When compared with the same period last year, there was a 39% decrease in the number of deals, but the aggregate value increased by 175%, caused the closure and announcement of high valued transactions, such as the acquisition of Hypermarcas by Reckitt Benckiser Brasil, for BRL 675m.
