Volaris, a Mexico-based airline, announced it will start operations in Puerto Rico, as of 2 July 2015. The plan is to launch a new international route from Cancun, Quintana Roo, to San Juan, Puerto Rico, as published in a press release on 5 May 2015. This announcement is part of the company's strategy. In April 2015, Volaris announced its entry in the Guatemalan market. (see related radar)

Volaris, compañía mexicana de aviación, ha anunciado que iniciará operaciones en Puerto Rico a partir del 2 julio de 2015 con el lanzamiento de su nueva ruta internacional desde Cancún, Quintana Roo, hacia la ciudad de San Juan, Puerto Rico, según ha publicado en una nota de prensa el 5 de mayo de 2015.
