In November, the Brazilian transactional market recorded 49 deals, both announced and closed, compared with 61 registered in the same period last year. The investment volume generated was BRL 24,12bn, taking into account deals with disclosed values. So far this year, there were 711 deals registered, both announced and closed, with an investment volume of BRL 158,81bn.

Regarding acquisitions made by Brazilian companies abroad, there were 18 deals recorded this month. US-based companies were the most acquisitive in the Brazilian market, with a total of six deals, mainly in the Internet and multimedia segments. Italian companies were the second most active acquirers in Brazil, with two acquisitions.

This month, deals involving private equity and venture capital firms represent 17% and 6%, respectively, of the total number transactions recorded. The investment volume generated by private equity deals was approximately BRL 2,71bn. Whereas, the venture capital segment generated BRL 30,50m, taking into account deals with disclosed values.

TTR’s highlighted deal this month was American Tower do Brasil’s acquisition of BR Towers, through its US-based subsidiary American Tower. The deal value was approximately BRL 2,25bn.
